HR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY IN APPRAEL SECTOR

Human resource department plays a vital role in an organization from hiring people to retirement. Regardless of position, gender, race, religion, nation, social status, HR has to treat every employee equally. HR works as the bridge between management and employees to secure the good will of the company. According to (Rishi, 2021) “none of the business unit can perform successfully without human recourse department.

Each company has it’ own designed HR structure align with local government rules/regulations as well as suit to company environment. It seems that HR, Admin and counseling are always go under HR functions. 

Basic Responsibilities of Hr

1)     Employee Recruitment - One of the major responsibilities of human resource department is to involve in recruiting correct candidates for the organization. There should be clearly written recruitment procedure in the company enabling the correct recruitment process. HR department to make sure no personal interference in the process of recruitment

 

2)     Handle employee grievances - Employees with different mindset, different thinking pattern, and different behavior are working under one roof. Disputes between management and employees are commonly seen in apparel sector. HR is to play a major role impartially to settle these types of disputes to continue the business process without interruptions.

 

3)     Disciplinary procedure – Employee disciplinary is utmost important for the continuity of the production process. Any violation or break of company disciplinary procedure is subjected to disciplinary actions. There should be a written disciplinary procedure in the organization as well as HR responsibility to make every employee know the procedure.

 

4)     Health and safety requirement – Setting and follow up employee health and safety protocols is under the human recourse department. Educate employee and update them with revised requirement is part of HR responsibilities. HR to make sure environmental safety and create pleasant working environment for all

 

5)     Employee welfare activities - HR department is to directly involve in employee welfare activities to make employee more engage with the company. These are extra curriculum activities adding value to the company virtues.

 

 Conclusion

Except HR management, all the management categories are considered as production related management team which they are mainly involve in production activities. Worker concerns, environmental concerns, employee personal matters are some of the key responsibilities of HR. These activities have direct connection with company objectives as well as failure of these HR functions leads to industrial disputes. Therefore HR has a vital role to play in apparel sector keep both management and employee bond.
